-- Shocking Product Recalls

In the past, we are sure you have heard of some product recalls that were surrounded by rather suspicious circumstances.

The Hair Dryer From Hell

It’s 1979 and all you wanted to do was take a shower and quickly dry your hair. So you go the store and buy a new hair dryer but you come home with weaponized asbestos.

Radioactive Milk

Whoever said milk helps build strong bones obviously have never had the chance to try a glass of Chernobyl milk. The site of Chernobyl is said to be uninhabitable for a minimum of 20,000 years but what hasn’t been talked about nearly enough is how habitable the nearby cities are after the crisis.

Samsung Galaxy Note S7

We don’t mean to blow your ears off but the Samsung Galaxy Note S7 seems to have a different agenda. Just in case you own one you might want to listen closely. The Galaxy Note S7 was one of the most anticipated phones of 2016 and to say the least, it had an explosive release.

Burger King Poké-Balls

Death quickly adopted the motto of “Gotta catch ‘em all” after the rising success of the card game and television show PokĂ©mon. Nowadays the only PokĂ©mon related dangers include the occasional PokĂ©mon Go player running into traffic to catch a Pikachu or a driver swerving off into the opposite lane for a Snorlax.

Pool Toys

We all can look back fondly at those summers at the pool when we were children, all except for a few children in 1999. Remember those diving sticks that would sink to the bottom of the pool and you had to go retrieve them? Well, they impale children now.

Kydex Glock Holsters

As if the police didn’t already have enough trouble with accidental shootings there came a holster that literally caused officers to shoot themselves in the foot. Kydex has had a long history of manufacturing top of the line holsters, so much so that some precincts used Kydex as their primary holster.

Lapel Pins

It’s as if the Consumer Product Safety Commission hates America. They have taken our phones, our toys, and now our lapel pins. So why did the CPSC refuse us the right to represent our country or cause in style?

The Fire Cap Fire Suppressant

A serial killed choking on cheerios, a crab getting cancer, a phlebotomist that is scared of needles are all examples of some cruel irony but is there anything worse than a fire extinguisher that causes fires.

The Flashlight That Kills

We aren’t talking about light sabers we are talking about actual flashlights. L.L Bean has had few missteps in their career of producing camping equipment but here is one that might just stop your heart.

Honorable Mention

The 90’s seemed to be a bad time for all industries even the writing utensil industry. Society may truly be lost when even number 2 pencils are encouraging you to use drugs. Well, kind of…

Elon Musk – the closest person we have to Tony Stark hasn’t really given us a quality product since PayPal. While his fancy battery-powered cars may seem like a look into to the future that future is only about 60,000 miles away and then your drive train will fail. In December of 2015, Tesla issued a recall for all early model Tesla’s because of reports that the drivetrain malfunctioned after 60,000 miles.
