-- has a few skeletons in their closet that they hope nobody finds out about. Sometimes, good people do bad things. Coming up are the stories of good people that have done a few shady things in their lifetime, including Chuck Berry who spent some time behind bars for a few appalling crimes, Steve Jobs who took advantage of a friend, and Nelson Mandela who was an outspoken terrorist. Joins us as we look at some good people who did some very bad things!
Chuck Berry
This rock-n-roll star did some not-so-stellar things that landed him in prison. This guitarist, singer, and songwriter basically paved the way for the rock and roll music genre. You might know him for his biggest hit, “Johnny B. Good.”
Abraham Lincoln
Even if Abraham Lincoln were running against Donald Trump, he’d probably still lose. What some people don’t know is that the United States’ 16th president, the president that abolished slavery, was a racist. It wasn’t that he thought slavery was morally right...he knew it wasn’t...he just didn’t know how blacks and whites could live together as one cohesive group.
Don King
This American boxing promoter took things out of the ring….and a bit too far. King created and ran an illegal gambling operation out of a record store basement in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio after dropping out of college.
Steve Jobs
Who doesn’t tell a little white lie to their friends now and then? Steve Jobs is no exception. In his pre-Apple days, Jobs was hired by Atari to create a whole new circuit board for the famous game, Breakout.
Kiefer Sutherland
Look out Lindsay Lohan...Kiefer Sutherland is giving you a run for your money. Sutherland, famous for his TV show 24, has gotten not one, not two, not three, but four DUIs since 1989.
Aaron Eckhart
Sometimes, taking your job a little too seriously is your achilles heel. While preparing for a movie called Rabbit Hole, he was trying to figure out how to play the part perfectly. That’s when he decided to submerse himself in that lifestyle, a strategy that isn’t uncommon in Hollywood.
Honorable Mentions
Fred Willard
This American actor, comedian, voice actor, and writer is most famous for his role in the Anchorman films and Everybody Loves Raymond, but did you know that he was once caught with his Willard in his hand?
Charlie Chaplin
This iconic English comic and filmmaker’s personal life was no laughing matter. While making a film called The Gold Rush, he impregnated actress Lita Grey. The only problem was that she was 15 and he was 35, so he could have been found guilty of statutory rape.
Albert Einstein
While theoretical physicist Albert Einstein made a huge impact in the science world, let’s just be glad he never dabbled in the field of marriage counseling.
Nelson Mandela
This former South African president and civil rights symbol isn’t the man everyone thinks he is...in fact, he was the head of the UmKhonto we Sizwe, which was a terrorist group spinoff of the African National Congress, and he wasn’t shy about it.
